LD Chair Addressed Vis-Min RYLI
October 31, 2009Lakandayang Chairman Joseph Reylan B. Viray addressed young leaders and students from different colleges and universities in Visayas and Mindanao regions last October 27, 2009 at Punta Villa Resort, Iloilo City. The event was sponsored and organized by the Order of the Knights of Rizal,OCCI, and the Kabataang Pangarap ni Rizal (Kapariz) .
Prof. Viray delivered a lecture on “Rizal and the Field Theory”. He employed the field theory advocated by the charismatic German social psychologist Kurt Lewin in analyzing and studying the life of the National Hero. He stressed that the field theory views the social environment as a dynamic field which interacts with human consciousness. Accordingly, Mr. Viray viewed Rizal as a product of his interaction with the social environment or with the social field.
Prof. Viray convinced the young delegates (approximately 300) to be sensitive towards their social environment and to be open minded about what the social field requires of them. He told the delegates to be of service to the nation by setting their goals and planning for ways how to achieve these goals. He urged them to go to action and be instruments of social change.
Mr. Viray is also set to deliver the same lecture in the National Rizal Youth Leadership institute in Baguio City on December 15-18, 2009. (Joel U. Chavez)
